The T54 is a surface planer that was mainly developed in order to fulfil two tasks – the perfect dressing of workpieces and the fast and reliable application of angled edges on these workpieces. Because only with perfect surface planing results can you get the perfect end result. The smooth-running fence with integrated auxiliary fence enables quick and precise working. The fence runs smoothly and without tilting on ball bearing guided courses – as precise years later as on the very first day. Even chamfers can be planed in an instant, because with the user-friendly single-handed adjustment every angle between 90° and 45° can be set quickly.

Auxiliary fence

• The serial auxiliary fence is already integrated in the surfacing fence, to safely guide small, narrow workpieces over the machine table. This is an important contribution to more working safety.

Operation at a glance.

• Operation of the T54 is as easy as it’s effective. Whether you set chip removal or turn the machine on or off – everything is in one place and easily accessible. You can even reach the hollow/ V-shaped joint settings from here, the scale shows you the setting.

Moving control panel

• The operating elements installed as standard on the infeed table can optionally be provided above the table level. The chip removal is displayed digitally at a resolution of 0.1 mm and can be precisely set at the touch of a button. Good for all those who like to keep an eye on all the important stuff. When the surfacing fence travels on the table, the control panel also moves with it and is also in easy reach of the operator

Robust, solid and durable construction.

• The machine frame of the T54 is a stable, thick walled composite structure, that is only found in MARTIN products. Already back in the 1920s Otto Martin invented and registered this design. Today, after 95 years of continuous improvement, this simple yet good principle is still being used for the frames at MARTIN. The smart combination of steel and concrete creates a high quality frame unequalled in terms of stability, damping capacity and torsional stiffness. The vibrations that occur in any planer are absorbed much more effectively than in cast iron frames or welded structures. These stands are the perfect base for your perfect work!

Also worth mentioning is the integrated auxiliary fence, which makes processing narrower parts much safer.

Protection at a Swiss level.

• The SUVAMATIC safety guard stands for first class functionality and the highest safety. The reversible infeed spout produces a light contact pressure against the fence during joining depending on the setting

• The TERSA solid steel cutterblock of the T54 offers many practical benefits: The high degree of quiet running in the precision bearings and the precise fit of the two form-fit reversible blades give an extremely exact knife cutting diameter – and so the best conditions for cleanly planed surfaces. The TERSA reversible blade is available in four different qualities, i.e. for all tasks, and the cutterblock can also be delivered as Z4 shaft, on request.
