A Color-Matched Basket Strainer Built for Brown Quartz Sinks
The Karran QBSBR is a 3-1/2 inch basket strainer sized for kitchen drain openings and finished in Brown to coordinate with Karran's brown quartz composite sink line. Where a standard stainless strainer breaks the visual continuity of a matched sink installation, this strainer holds the color through to the drain.
Key Features
• Brown finish coordinates with Karran's brown quartz composite kitchen sinks for a unified look at the drain.
• 3-1/2 inch sizing fits the standard kitchen drain opening found on Karran quartz and acrylic sink bowls.
• Removable strainer basket lifts out for fast debris clearing without tools.
• Designed for non-disposal drain connections, serving as the primary drain fitting where no garbage disposal is present.
Where This Strainer Fits the Workflow
Kitchen renovations and cabinet shop installs often pair a Karran quartz sink with a color-matched drain accessory to carry the finish across the full assembly. A brown quartz bowl paired with a chrome or stainless strainer draws the eye to the mismatch at the drain opening — the QBSBR closes that gap. It is also the right call when a client is specifying a non-disposal setup and wants every visible component to hold the same palette. The removable basket handles daily debris without requiring the user to reach for anything; it lifts straight out for clearing and drops back into place.
Material and Finish Details
Karran publishes the QBS color-matched strainer line specifically for its quartz and acrylic sink families, and the Brown finish on the QBSBR is calibrated to that product range. The basket strainer occupies the 3-1/2 inch drain opening that is standard across Karran's kitchen bowl series. Because the color match is documented for Karran quartz and acrylic sinks, pairing it outside that line may not yield a consistent result — color variation across materials and brands is expected.
Who Orders This and When
Cabinet shops completing a Karran brown quartz sink installation will find this the logical drain choice where no disposal is planned. Designers specifying a full hardware package can close out the drain detail without leaving a stainless steel contrast at the bowl. Homeowners replacing a worn or mismatched strainer in an existing Karran brown quartz sink get the fit and finish the sink was built for. This is an indoor kitchen drain component; it is not rated for laundry, bar, or vanity applications and does not replace a disposal flange where a disposal is present.
FAQ
Can I use this strainer if I have a disposal?
No. A garbage disposal requires a disposal flange at the drain opening, not a basket strainer. Karran's QDFBR color-matched disposal flange is the correct fitting for brown quartz sinks with a disposal installed.
Does this strainer fit non-Karran sinks with a 3-1/2 inch drain opening?
The sizing will fit a standard 3-1/2 inch kitchen drain opening, but the Brown color is matched to Karran's quartz and acrylic brown sinks specifically. The finish may not coordinate with other brands' brown or bronze finishes.
Is this the same strainer that ships with a Karran -PK1 sink package?
Karran -PK1 packs include stainless steel basket strainers. This QBSBR is a standalone, color-matched upgrade for buyers who want the Brown finish at the drain rather than a stainless strainer.
Does this strainer work with Karran's acrylic sinks in addition to quartz?
Yes. Karran publishes the QBS color-matched strainer line for both its quartz composite and acrylic sink families.
The Right Finish on Every Detail
Completing a quartz sink installation with a matched drain accessory is a small step that makes a visible difference. The QBSBR keeps the Brown finish consistent from bowl to drain, so the final install looks as considered as the rest of the project.
