A Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet Built for Dark, Modern Finishes
The Karran Lagrange is a single-handle pull-down kitchen faucet with a dual-function spray head, finished in Matte Black. Its single-hole mounting keeps the deck clean while the retractable hose brings the spray head directly to pots, produce, and the far corners of the bowl.
Key Features
• Matte Black finish coordinates with dark hardware and black sink accessories without showing fingerprints the way glossy finishes do.
• Dual-function spray head switches between an aerated stream for everyday rinsing and a powerful spray for tougher cleaning tasks.
• Single-handle control adjusts both flow and temperature with one hand at the lever.
• Pull-down retractable hose brings the spray head into deep bowls and returns it to the spout dock after use.
• Single-hole mounting installs through one deck or countertop opening, with mounting hardware and supply lines included.
• Ceramic cartridge rated to 1.5 million cycles handles daily use across the life of the kitchen.
Where the Matte Black Lagrange Fits
Dark kitchens and two-tone designs have pushed Matte Black hardware into a lot of new builds and remodels over the past several years. The Lagrange fits that brief precisely: the flat, non-reflective finish reads as intentional next to black cabinet pulls, matte faucets over quartz or granite counters, and Karran's own Matte Black sink accessories and soap dispensers. It also works in lighter kitchens where a single bold element at the sink anchors the space. The pull-down head is practical in any layout, but it earns its keep most in deeper single bowls where a fixed spout leaves the far end of the basin hard to reach. The dual-function head means one faucet handles the gentle rinse needed for herbs and the heavier spray needed after a cast iron skillet.
Materials and Construction
The faucet body is lead-free brass, the stated material for the Karran kitchen line. The Matte Black finish is applied by PVD, a process that bonds the finish to the metal rather than coating over it. The ceramic cartridge at the core of the single-lever control is rated to 1.5 million cycles by the manufacturer, a figure that reflects routine daily use. The spray head runs on a nylon braided hose with coloring matched to the Matte Black finish, so the hose blends rather than contrasts when the head is pulled down.
Who Orders This Faucet
Cabinet shops and kitchen designers specifying a full hardware suite in Matte Black reach for this SKU because it matches Karran's Matte Black soap dispenser and sink accessories in the same finish family, letting one vendor cover the faucet, dispenser, and sink in a coordinated order. Homeowners renovating a kitchen and contractors doing new-construction installs both benefit from the single-hole footprint, which keeps countertop drilling minimal and suits sinks with one pre-drilled faucet hole or no deck holes at all. The included mounting hardware and supply lines mean the install kit arrives with the faucet rather than requiring a separate trip for parts.
Does the spray head dock automatically when you let go of the hose?
The Lagrange pull-down hose is retractable, meaning the head returns to its docked position at the spout after use. Check the spec sheet for the exact docking mechanism details for this model.
Will this faucet work over a sink with no faucet deck holes?
Yes. Because the Lagrange mounts through a single hole in the countertop or deck, it works with undermount sinks that have no built-in faucet deck, as long as a hole is drilled in the countertop at the appropriate location.
Is a soap dispenser included with the faucet?
No. The soap dispenser is a separate purchase. Karran's SD25 and SD35 dispensers are available in Matte Black and coordinate with this faucet's finish.
What is the overall height of the Lagrange?
The SAP description lists 17-9/16 inches as the overall height. Confirm spout reach and spout height from the manufacturer's spec sheet before finalizing the install plan, particularly if there is a window or shelf behind the sink.
The Right Finish for a Long-Term Kitchen Decision
Faucet finish is one of the harder things to change once a kitchen is tiled and cabinetry is in. The Matte Black Lagrange is a deliberate choice for kitchens being built or renovated around a dark, modern palette, and its lead-free brass body and ceramic cartridge are built to stay in place for years without requiring a rethink.
