A 32-Inch Extra-Large Single Bowl Built for High-Volume Kitchen Work
The Karran QU-712-GR is a quartz composite undermount kitchen sink with an extra-large single bowl in Gray, engineered for installation beneath stone, quartz, or solid surface countertops. Its uninterrupted basin handles cookware, sheet pans, and high-demand kitchen tasks without the constraints of a divider.
Key Features
• Extra-large single bowl delivers an uninterrupted 32-1/2 x 19-1/2 x 9-inch workspace for oversized cookware and prep tasks.
• Quartz composite construction (80% natural quartz, 20% acrylic resin) provides a highly scratch-, stain-, chip-, and heat-resistant basin.
• UV-stabilized material maintains color stability under prolonged light exposure so the Gray finish holds true over time.
• Heat-safe to 535°F so hot pots and pans can rest in the bowl without risk of damage.
• Standard 3.5-inch drain opening accepts common kitchen basket strainers and disposal flanges.
• 25-year warranty backs the sink against manufacturing defects.
Where the Extra-Large Bowl Makes the Difference
A single unbroken basin this size earns its place in any kitchen where pots, roasting pans, or full-size sheet trays move through the sink regularly. There is no center divider to work around when rinsing a 16-inch stockpot or washing a full hotel pan. For households that hand-wash large cookware, the extra depth adds to that advantage — water stays contained while tall items stay upright. Designers specifying a renovation kitchen, and cabinet shops installing a high-use customer build, both find this footprint a logical fit for 36-inch sink base cabinets where the layout calls for a single open bowl rather than split workspace.
Quartz Composite Material and Gray Finish
The QU-712-GR is made from 80% natural quartz crystals bound in 20% acrylic resin, a combination the manufacturer describes as highly resistant to scratches, stains, chips, and heat. The Gray colorway runs through the full material depth, so minor surface wear does not reveal a contrasting core. UV stabilization means the finish does not fade or shift under kitchen lighting or indirect sunlight from a window above the sink. The QU series uses a flat mounting rim and installs without a faucet deck, so the faucet and any accessories mount directly through the countertop behind the bowl. This suits installations in stone, quartz, and solid surface countertops where the countertop fabricator controls the drill locations.
Who This Sink Is For
This model is a practical choice for kitchen renovations where the countertop is quartz, granite, or solid surface and the design calls for a clean, rimless look at the sink. Homeowners who cook frequently and prefer an open bowl will find the 9-inch depth accommodates nearly everything that comes through the kitchen. Contractors and cabinet shops installing spec or custom kitchens with 36-inch or larger sink bases will recognize this as a production-reliable fit. The Gray finish coordinates naturally with concrete-toned and cool-palette quartz countertops that have become common in contemporary kitchen builds.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this sink install using a seamless method in laminate countertops?
No. The QU-712-GR is a standard undermount sink, not a Q Series seamless model. It mounts beneath stone, quartz, and solid surface countertops using clips or adhesive per the countertop fabricator's method. For seamless installation in laminate or solid surface, Karran's Q Series is the appropriate line.
Does the faucet mount through the sink or through the countertop?
Through the countertop. The QU series has no faucet deck, so all faucet and accessory holes are drilled into the countertop behind the bowl during fabrication.
Are a grid, drain, or basket strainer included with this sink?
This SKU is a bare sink. A drain, basket strainer, and bottom grid are sold separately. Karran offers model-compatible grids and strainers; confirm the fit to the QU-712 before ordering.
What countertop materials does this sink work with?
The QU-712-GR is documented for undermount installation in quartz, granite, and solid surface countertops, secured with countertop-appropriate clips or adhesive. It is not documented for laminate installations.
How does the 25-year warranty work?
Karran backs this sink with a 25-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Refer to Karran's warranty documentation for the full terms, conditions, and claim process.
