A Matte Black Pull-Down Faucet Built for a Hardworking Kitchen
The Karran Dockton is a single-handle pull-down kitchen faucet with a dual-function spray head, finished in Matte Black. It installs through a single deck or countertop hole, making it a direct fit for most kitchen sink configurations and a clean visual anchor for dark or mixed-metal hardware schemes.
Key Features
• Dual-function spray head switches between an aerated stream and a powerful spray for rinsing and cleaning tasks.
• Pull-down retractable hose extends the spray head into the bowl and docks back to the spout when released.
• Single lever control manages both flow and water temperature with one hand.
• Single-hole mounting fits most kitchen sinks and countertops with a single deck opening.
• Matte Black finish coordinates with dark cabinet hardware and sink accessories across the Karran line.
• Lead-free brass construction with a durable PVD finish applied over the body.
Where the Dockton Fits the Work
A pull-down faucet earns its place in kitchens where the sink sees genuine daily use. The Dockton's spray head travels down into the bowl on its retractable hose, making it easy to rinse a full load of produce, wash out a deep pot, or direct water precisely without fighting a fixed spout. The dual-function head adds flexibility: switch to the aerated stream for filling and to the powerful spray for scrubbing. The 360° swivel spout means the faucet covers both bowls on a double-basin sink without repositioning.
For designers specifying a kitchen renovation or contractors sourcing for an install, Matte Black is a finish that coordinates consistently across Karran sinks, soap dispensers, and accessories, reducing the guesswork in finish matching.
Material, Finish, and Construction
The Dockton body is lead-free brass, with a PVD finish in Matte Black. PVD is a physical vapor deposition process that bonds the finish to the metal at a molecular level, producing a surface that holds its color better than painted or lacquered alternatives. The internal valve is a ceramic cartridge rated by the manufacturer to 1.5 million cycles, which translates to consistent, drip-free performance over the long term without the need for routine cartridge maintenance. The spray head runs on a nylon braided hose matched in color to the Matte Black finish.
Who Orders This Faucet
Cabinet shops and designers completing a kitchen spec will find the Dockton a practical choice when the project calls for a coordinated Matte Black hardware story. The single-hole install is straightforward for experienced plumbers and trim carpenters, and the faucet pairs directly with Karran stainless and quartz composite sinks that already carry a Matte Black drain or soap dispenser option. Homeowners upgrading an existing single-hole setup get a finished look without any countertop modification. Contractors working on multiple units appreciate a faucet that installs consistently across different countertop materials, since the single-hole mount is compatible with stone, laminate, quartz composite, and solid surface decks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this faucet include mounting hardware and supply lines?
Mounting hardware and hot and cold water lines are included per the manufacturer's specification sheet. Confirm the contents of your specific shipment against the packing list upon receipt.
What countertop thickness does the single-hole mounting hardware accommodate?
The source data does not specify a maximum deck thickness. If you are installing over a built-up or thick stone counter, verify the mounting hardware reach against your actual deck depth before installation.
Will this faucet coordinate with other Karran Matte Black accessories?
Matte Black is a shared finish across Karran kitchen faucets, soap dispensers, and drain strainers. Finishes across different product types and materials may vary slightly in sheen; order samples or review finish swatches if an exact match is critical to your project.
Is the spray head pull-down or pull-out?
The Dockton is a pull-down design. The spray head draws downward into the bowl from the spout and docks back up when released. A pull-out faucet draws the head toward the user from the body — that is a different configuration.
What sinks does the Dockton pair with?
Any kitchen sink with a single faucet hole and a compatible countertop material is a fit. If the sink has no faucet deck, such as a Karran QU series undermount, the faucet mounts through the countertop surface itself.
A Finish That Stays in the Spec
The Dockton in Matte Black delivers pull-down function, a dual-spray head, and a finish that holds across the Karran accessory line, making it easy to close out a kitchen spec without substituting hardware at the last minute.
