A Bold Matte Black Pull-Down Faucet Built for Hardworking Kitchens
The Karran Hillwood is a single-handle pull-down kitchen faucet with a dual-function spray head, finished in Matte Black. Designed for kitchens where both performance and appearance matter, the Hillwood handles everyday cooking and cleaning tasks with a streamlined silhouette that anchors a dark-finish scheme or creates contrast against lighter surfaces.
Key Features
• Dual-function spray head switches between an aerated stream for rinsing and a powerful spray for heavier cleaning tasks.
• Single lever control manages both water flow and temperature with one hand.
• Pull-down retractable hose brings the spray head into the bowl and returns it cleanly to the spout.
• Matte Black finish applied by a durable PVD process for a consistent, flat tone that coordinates across Karran's faucet and accessory line.
• Ceramic cartridge rated to 1.5 million cycles for long-term, drip-resistant operation.
• Lead-free brass construction meets potable-water compliance requirements.
Where the Hillwood Fits in the Kitchen
The pull-down configuration is well-suited to kitchens with deeper bowls, where directing the spray head to the far corners of the basin matters. The dual-function head covers the two most common tasks at the sink: a gentle stream for filling pots and rinsing produce, and a focused spray for scrubbing down sheet pans or clearing debris from the bowl. Single-lever operation keeps things simple when hands are wet or full. The Hillwood works with a single mounting hole in the deck or countertop, making it a practical choice for new-installation countertops and for replacing a faucet that already has a single-hole setup.
Finish, Materials, and Long-Term Performance
Matte Black is one of the more unforgiving finishes in any kitchen — fingerprints, water spots, and wear show on glossy surfaces but the flat tone of this PVD application holds up to the visual demands of a working kitchen. The ceramic cartridge, rated by the manufacturer to 1.5 million cycles, is the internal component most responsible for a faucet's long-term feel and leak resistance. Lead-free brass is the stated body material, satisfying potable-water requirements without special documentation on a standard residential install. The nylon braided spray hose is color-matched to the Matte Black finish.
The Right Choice for Dark-Finish and High-Contrast Kitchens
Designers and cabinet shops specifying hardware for a matte black or mixed-metal kitchen will find the Hillwood integrates cleanly with Karran's coordinating soap dispensers in the same finish. Homeowners updating a single-hole faucet cutout get a straightforward replacement path. Contractors installing new cabinetry with quartz or solid-surface countertops can pair the Hillwood with Karran undermount or top-mount sinks from the same line, keeping the order consolidated. The flat Matte Black tone also reads well against white, grey, and concrete-tone quartz bowls in the Karran quartz range.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this faucet require a single hole or multiple holes to install?
The Hillwood is a single-hole mount. It installs through one hole in the deck or countertop. Mounting hardware is included.
Is the spray head magnetic or self-docking?
The spray head is retractable and returns to the spout on its hose. No magnetic docking mechanism is specified for this model.
Can I pair this faucet with a Karran soap dispenser in Matte Black?
Yes. Karran offers coordinating soap dispensers in Matte Black that are designed to work alongside faucets in the same finish family.
What is the overall height of the Hillwood faucet?
The SAP data references 14-7/16 inches as the overall height. Verify this against the published spec sheet before finalizing clearance for shelving or a window behind the sink.
Is this faucet suitable for use with a Karran undermount quartz sink?
Yes. Because Karran quartz undermount sinks (QU series) have no faucet deck, the Hillwood mounts through the countertop above the sink. The single-hole requirement aligns with that installation path.
Matte Black Performance Where the Kitchen Works Hardest
The Hillwood delivers a dual-function pull-down experience in a finish that pairs with the sink hardware, cabinet pulls, and accessories in a dark-tone kitchen, giving designers and installers one less specification to reconcile at the job's end.
