Common questions
What is the difference between CLIP top 110° and 110°+?
Both are full-overlay hinges with a 45mm bore pattern and BLUMOTION soft-close. The 110° lets you get up to a 5/8" to 3/4" overlay. The 110°+ lets you get up to 7/8".
What do Screw-On, Dowelled, Expando and Inserta mean?
They describe how the hinge cup fastens to the door. Screw-on uses wood screws; dowelled and Expando seat into pre-bored holes; Inserta locks in without tools.
Do I need a PlateMate?
Blum recommends a PlateMate with the face frame mounting plates on this page for accurate, repeatable placement.
Do I have to buy a full box?
No. Hinges ship 250 to a box and mounting plates 500, but we break boxes: every hinge and plate on this page is sold by each at the same sale pricing. Buy the box when you are running production; buy the each when you need a door's worth.
Which mounting plate height do I need, 0mm or 3mm?
The plate height determines how much of the door covers the hinge-side of the cabinet face. 0mm is the standard full-overlay setting; 3mm moves the door sideways. Both plates give plus or minus 2mm of cam adjustment afterwards.
Can BLUMOTION soft-close be switched off?
Not on these hinges. The soft-close mechanism is integrated into the hinge cup, which is what keeps the action consistent regardless of door weight. Blum offers separate CLIP top hinges without BLUMOTION where soft-close is not wanted.
